The Queer Care Quilt

You’re invited to add your voice, reflections, hopes, and dreams on care to the Queer Care Quilt.
Care means different things to different people. As queer & trans people, our care can sometimes exists in opposition to normative forms of care. What does care mean to you? Who is a part of your community of care? How does your version of care oppose heteronormative care? What is the kind of care you want to see more of in the world? The Queer Care Quilt asks you these questions and offers you the opportunity to create together with community and add your own perspective to a quilt.
The Queer Care Quilt is made with a velcro quilt top. So, not only can you create your quilt patch or square, you can add any object to the quilt that can have self-adhesive velcro applied to it. Make something at the event or bring an object (that you are willing to part with!) that represents what care means to you!
Fabric, sewing materials, a selection of art supplies, and a small collection of found objects will be available for you to use. All levels of experience with textile art are welcome. We have facilitators who can help guide you with your vision.
