I make a lot of art with things that people would consider “trash,” and this has been a very fulfilling journey. Developing resourcefulness and the ability to recognize that we already have the materials we need to create wonders is a valuable skill. I also want to highlight BIPOC approaches to sustainability and resourcefulness in art throughout history. I hope to offer a hands-on art experience where we explore finding art in trash, thinking outside the box, and why all of this matters, while creating a discussion space around these topics specifically for QTBIPOC people.
