Practical Consent Workshop: The Nuances of Consent

À Corps Consentants (Consenting Bodies) is a project that invites you to explore the notion of consent in an embodied way, through concrete practice and connection to the body, going beyond purely theoretical understanding. Our approach is somatic, feminist-queer, and trauma-informed. The exploratory contexts we create are non-sexual, although all the tools we offer can be applied to your intimate life.
The theme of our workshop: Exploring the Nuances of Consent…
For several years now, when discussing physical and sexual intimacy, the importance of “enthusiastic consent” has often been emphasized. While this approach is highly relevant, it also presents a rather binary view of consent and leaves little room for nuance. If I’m not a “fuck yes,” then I’m a “no.” Is this always true? What possibilities exist between these two polarized responses?
This workshop is an invitation to explore different ways of connecting with our enthusiastic “yeses,” our firm “nos,” and all the nuances that exist in between. By creating a safe space that allows for the complexity of our desires and boundaries, we can offer ourselves the opportunity to expand our self-discovery, explore our practices, and delve into our areas of curiosity.
Content: Our workshops alternate between periods of connection to the body through grounding, breathwork, and movement; the presentation and practice of tools related to consent (verbal and non-verbal), individually and in pairs; and periods of integration and sharing within the group.
What do we mean by a non-sexual exploration context?
