Queering Game Design Panel

Our renovated sections have infrastructure that facilitates access for people with reduced mobility or wheelchair users. However, we are not fully accessible to everyone, and some people with reduced mobility may need to be accompanied to their destination within the building.
InterGalActive Gaming Day is an event created by femme and queer ga(y)mers in celebration of women, girls and queer folk in the game design and gaming world. It is an intergenerational and intersectional space that spotlights underrepresented voices in video game communities. Participants can hear from professionals in the industry about institutional barriers, connect with others about shared experiences, build community and help create safer gaming spaces. With insights from the team at Paralives Studio and Gamerella, our first panel “Queering Game Design” covers how developers can subvert heteronormativity, gender roles, bio-essentialism and more through the art and mechanics of their games.
